LINDA GILBERT Of Sewickley, who battled cancer for two years, left to be with Jesus for eternity on May 23rd, at the age of 73. Linda was born Feb. 13, 1947, in Wichita, KS, to Wilbur and Leta Hatcher. Beloved by her husband, John Gilbert, who she met while he was stationed in the Air Force. John and Linda were married for 51 years. Survived by five children, Keith Gilbert of Sewickley, Jason (Alison) Gilbert of Sewickley, Sabrina (Rand) Baker of Weirton, Steve Gilbert of Sewickley, Ron (Raluca) Bostick of California. Linda is the proud grandmother of Celia, Teodora, Adrian, Mike, Rylie, Anthony, Remington, Tristan, Peyton and Taylor and great-grandmother of two, Is'Haq and Bushra. Linda was very active with the ladies ministry and choir at Sewickley Lighthouse Baptist Church for 47 years. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27th, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m., at SLBC, 301 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA 15143. Funeral will be Thursday, May 28th, at 11 a.m., at SLBC. CAROL LOUISE WICK Age 60, died on Saturday, May 23 2020, after a long struggle with frontotemporal dementia, a rare neurodegenerative disease. She was the daughter of Margaret Weber Wick and the late William Wick. In addition to her mother, survivors include her sisters, Mary Wick and Colleen Wick; her brothers, William Wick (Debra) and John Wick (Anita) and their children and grandchildren; as well as her loving aunts, cousins and friends. Carol graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1978, and from Northwestern University in 1982. After college, she lived in Chicago and enjoyed her work as an independent film producer for corporate clients. Later in her career, as her business expanded, she also offered event planning services to her clients. She could plan the meeting or conference where her videos would be shown. Carol was a member of the Holy Name Cathedral parish in Chicago, and a longtime usher at her church. She was a world-traveler, an occasional freelance comedy writer, and a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. When her disease advanced, Carol returned to Pittsburgh to be near relatives. Carol's family wants to thank on her behalf the many devoted caregivers and therapists at Asbury Health Center in Mt. Lebanon, for their kindness and skill during her final months. Earlier, Carol had been well-cared for with great patience at Asbury Place and at Arden Courts of Jefferson Hills. ROSEMARY BARONE With great sadness, the family of Rosemary Barone, announces her passing at Jefferson Hospital on May 24, 2020, at the age 65. A lifelong resident of the South Hills, Rose was the daughter to the late Robert P. Bittel, Sr. and Lorraine (Gralka) Bittel, of Baldwin Borough, and sister to Dr. Robert P. (Debbie) Bittel, Jr., Barbara (Lou) Labyoda and George A. (Michele) Bittel. Rose is survived by her devoted husband Stephen Barone, of Whitehall, where they made a home together throughout their 46 year marriage; her loving children, Daniel Barone of Whitehall, Bryan Barone and his wife, Vasthy, of Upper St. Clair, Bradley Barone and his wife, Natalie, of McMurray, and Laura Mary Barone of Whitehall; as well as the five grandchildren, Ezra, Alexander, Connor, Bailey and Rory, who brought her so much joy. Rose will be deeply missed by her beloved aunt, Rosemary "Bome"; and her passing is deeply mourned by her siblings, cousins, and her large extended Bittel and Barone families. Rose served Whitehall Borough both as a paramedic and as an elected council member. Her life was devoted to her service to others, especially to caring for her family. She delighted in opening her home and her heart to children, grandchildren, dogs and relatives. Rose was generous with her love, her time, her smile and, especially, her playful sense of humor. THOMAS E. SUTTON On Monday, May 25, 2020, Thomas E. Sutton, age 63, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Charity Sutton; father of Anthony T. (Leanna) Sutton, Mary A. Sutton, and Nicole M. Sutton; grandfather of Matthew, Lucas, and Caleb Sutton; brother of Mary Anne (George) Shanahan, and Barbara (Gene) Shine; also survived by his sister-in-law, Faith Gallagher, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. and Barbara J. Sutton. Tom was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, a true family man. He dedicated his life to always helping others. DUANE R. WURST Age 59, of Mt. Pleasant, PA, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 in Frick Hospital. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 21, 1960, son of Robert J. Wurst and Rebecca A. Edeburn Wurst. He was preceded in death by his loving Pap Pap and Mum Mum, Herb and Helen Edeburn. Duane was a 1978 graduate of Connellsville High School and Triangle Tech. He worked for United Fire Proofing. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant YMCA and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, left to cherish Duane's memory are his daughter, Heather R. ROBERT CHARLES "BOB" DeORIO Age 75, of Orange Park, Florida, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 21, 2020 at Cypress Village Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 20, 1945, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Amedio and Rose (Varatti) DeOrio. Bob served in the United States Army Signal Corps from 1964 to 1967, including nearly two years stationed in Taiwan. He subsequently spent 39 years as a train dispatcher for P&LE Railroad in Pittsburgh and CSX Transportation in Jacksonville, Florida, until his retirement in 2006. Bob loved the railroad, golfing, his church, and his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn (Gardom) DeOrio; son, Robert DeOrio (Dorene) of Pittsburgh and daughter, Lori Rettinger (Charles) of Orange Park; grandchildren, Kailyn and Chase Rettinger, and Victoria and Mia DeOrio; and sister, Geraldine Farbacher (Robert) of Pittsburgh. ROBERT "BOB" A. TIMET Passed away on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020. Cherished husband of Nancy Timet; beloved son of the late Anthony J. and Sophie Timet; loving brother of Katherine Wilson; loving father of Valerie Hofmeister (Jeff), and Anthony J. Timet (Dr. Jane Belak); grandfather of Adam and Sean Hofmeister, Chloe, and Katherine Timet. Bob was employed by Boilermaker's Local Union #154. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was an active member of the Marine Corp League Leather Neck Detachment 310 and volunteered his time with the VA Hospital in Oakland. Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking his favorite Italian meals, and making Italian sandwiches for every occasion. DR. WILLIAM "BILL" SUMMERS SHAW III, D.D.S. Age 80, of Upper St. Clair, PA passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Born on April 9, 1940, he was the son of the late Margaret and William S. Shaw, II. Beloved husband to Norma Jean Davis Shaw. Loving father to Jennifer (Rick) Letterman, Heather (Brian) Crawford, Stephanie (Mike) Brown and Bill (Kristen) Shaw. Cherished pap to Ben, Blake, Rachael, Sarah, Zachary,Grant and Luke. He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Shaw. Bill was born and raised in East Carnegie. He graduated from Thiel College and married his high school sweetheart in 1962. He then attended Dental Schoolat Case Western Reserve and graduated in 1966. He proudly served his country on active duty in the Air Force in Illinois before moving back home to Pittsburgh. Bill established his dental practice in Greentree and he was well loved and respected by his patients for all of his 51 years of practice. He took great pride in designing his home and his prize winning Koi pond, of which he won the Pittsburgh Garden Contest in 2008. Bill's favorite hobbies are his cars, especially his Porsche and 280 ZX and playing golf with his friends who called him “sweet ole Bill.” He will be dearly missed by all. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. CLYNICH (CLEONICE) CAPUZZI CAITO February 26, 1920 - May 25, 2020 Known as “Clyn” to her friends, passed peacefully surrounded by her family at home on May 25, 2020. Beloved wife of 50 years to Anton Caito (deceased); loving mother to Eileen Engel (Edward) and Grace Amorose (Joseph); devoted grandmother to Stephen and Matthew Engel, Caito Amorose (Devin Corboy) and Jason Amorose (Andrea); precious Gigi to Anton and Angeline Amorose. At seven years of age, she immigrated with her mother, Maria Nicola, from Guardiagrele, Italy, to join her father, Vincenzo, and brothers, Frank and Arthur Capuzzi, in America. Her sister, Orlandino, stayed in Italy. Clyn married the love of her life and helped him run the Gondola Café in the Pittsburgh West End. She attended Franco Beauty Academy and also worked at J.K. Miller Co. for 20 years. Clyn's passion was cooking and she enjoyed preparing large meals for her family. They were a delicious feast that included homemade pasta, her famous wedding soup, pizzelles, and biscottis, and were always highlighted with family stories. She had a beautiful untrained singing voice. Up until her passing, she continued to crochet intricately designed scarves, hats, afghans, and baby blankets as gifts, and donated crocheted prayer shawls to the sick. For her 100th birthday she received 303 cards. Clyn was a member of The Third Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She was a devoutly religious person and will forever be remembered for her love and generosity. She will be deeply missed. Monfredi (Julie), Jacob A. Monfredi, Christian E. Burgess and Catherine E. Burgess. Great-grandmother of Victoria, Jackson, Gia, Nina, and Aria. Sister of Dennis E. Carroll, Patricia B. Scatena and the late Eileen M. Scantena and John R. Carroll. Daughter of the late Delores A. and John M. Carroll. Nancie had an undying love for her husband, children, and country. Her children learned the Marine Corps Hymn before their ABC's. She was a dedicated wife of her Marine for 58 years. Nancie believed in luck (loved the casinos and numbers), love and heroes. She was a resilient warrior that faced her battles (battles that would have brought the strongest men to tears) with fierce grit and optimism. On tough days she was "Pretty Good, Pretty Good" and on good days she was "Fantastic." One of the last things she asked her husband was "You will always be my Hero, will I always be your Angel?" What a privilege to witness Faith, Hope and a Love so great. Friends will be received following CDC Guidelines at JOHN A.
